Dog and cat microchipping is a simple procedure. Your veterinary staff simply inject a microchip for pets, about the size of a grain of rice (12mm), beneath the surface of your pets skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to a routine shot, takes only a few seconds, and your pet will not react any more than he would to a vaccination. No anesthetic is required.
We use Home Again microchips at Westside Veterinary Clinic. Home Again allows you to register your pet's microchip for free in their database regardless of what brand the chip is, allowing them to be reported and found more easily. In addition, you have the option of enrolling your pet in their membership program which comes with additional resources and benefits.

Due to COVID-19, we ask that all pet owners stay in their vehicle upon arrival and text your pet's name and vehicle description to (928) 235-6612 to check-in. We also encourage each person in the vehicle to utilize a face covering prior to the arrival of the technician. If you would like to come inside with your pet, we are allowing one owner in the clinic per appointment. Please remain in your vehicle until the tech comes to get you and your pet. We do ask that all owners wear a mask inside the clinic.
